The minute jumps several minutes when the watch is jolted or shaken

by Phil Aitken

Hi.

I have a 1965 Omega Automatic Seamaster. The minute jumps several minutes when the watch is jolted or shaken. Is this easily fixed?

Thanks Phil.

Needs to be diagnosed more carefully

Its possible that the minute hand is loose on the minute wheel or that the minute wheel is without a washer and that allows it to "jump" up when the watch is jolted. Sounds like an easy fix, but really needs to be inspected by a watchmaker to be certain.
